The
64d bells are semi weatherproof and can installed inside a house or in a
reasonably sheltered position outside. They are ideal if you need a neat small
bell which is easy to install. They can be fixed to a wall or shelf, or just
tucked out of the way. The bell gongs are the same as those fitted to a 300
series telephone, so it will have a loud melodious ring. They are all in new
unused condition but are at least 25 years old.
Bell
set 26 was designed as an extension bell inside the house. It is also custom
made to fit under a type 232 telephone. The bells have a similar sound to a bell
set 64d.
Bell
set 1A is the older wood version of a No 26 bell set.
Other bells are also in stock. Please call me for details.
All these bell sets are supplied with a 3 metre cord and two way
adaptor enabling them to be plugged in to a telephone socket. They are powered
by the telephone line so do not need a mains socket nearby. They will work
normally with dial telephones and modern push button telephones. Technical note. I am often asked if they can be used as door bells. Generally
speaking they cannot as they are designed to be used on an AC system at a
frequency of around 20-25 Hz.

If you have a telephone in your possession that you want to know
more about, or have repaired or converted, please have it right next to you when
you call. It is not sufficient just to have a note of any markings or to rely on
memory. It may be useful to have a selection of small flat bladed screwdrivers
to hand.
